The Bridge Arts Centre, Easterhouse
This £9m multi use centre provides a theatre, workshops, recording suites, education and gallery spaces, cafe and community library.
Its name reflects the way the building cleverly links the existing public swimming pool and the John Wheatley College.
Inside is an intriguing series of interlinking spaces that challenge the traditional concept of arts centre as being apart from and not part of the community.
The new library acts as a street, gently sloping upwards from the front of the building to the back, surrounded by activity and colour and light.
