GH20 Phase 1, Glasgow Harbour for Dandara Ltd.
Glasgow Harbour Phase 2 is a major new development on the Clydeside, situated on the historical site of the former Granary buildings. The development responds to the existing urban fabric with the typical 'tenement' linear blocks to the north and 5 high-rise towers orientated towards the River Clyde.
The judges admired the bold approach to placing tall buildings on the river. By turning the blocks perpendicular to the waterfront, 95% of the units get river views. This also creates a series of well considered and detailed public and private spaces that are enhanced by imaginatively sculpted landscapes and lighting.
