2007 AWARDS

SUPREME AWARDS

For the first time ever the GIA has awarded a Supreme Award to celebrate a building or a body of work by a practice or an outstanding contribution to the GIA by an individual.

The judges decided that the first award would be for a 'building'.

Elder and Cannon

Castlemilk Stables Block, Castlemilk for Glasgow Building Preservation Trust

In the company of very stiff competition there was one building whose regenerative impact, innovative design and elegance of detailing stood out for the judges, who found the environment created by the project a hugely uplifting experience, an outstanding achievement in every respect.

It was also decided that a second award would be presented to an individual for their outstanding contribution to the GIA.

Fiona Sinclair

Fiona has held numerous positions in the GIA, including Honorary Secretary, Historian and President and is currently Past President and Convenor of the Communications Committee.
