The award in the residential category this year is for a single-family dwelling built in a rural location on the West Coast of Scotland.
The site commands a wonderful South/West aspect across Loch Melfort to the Isle of Shuna, Croabh Haven and beyond.
Studio KAP continually manage to push their client's aspirations way beyond the domestic vernacular in rural locations. Whilst settling the building into the landscape through its scale and use of materials the house unashamedly offers a contemporary statement, and creates some impressive interior spaces for the owners.
