The judges were impressed by this very good approach at placemaking. All the opportunities have been set up by the architect to create a very fine place to live. We were hugely impressed by the way Elder & Cannon can create plan and section ideas in these very tight briefs. The relationship between the blocks is carefully judged to preserve privacy while creating intimacy and enclosure. The material strategy is strong and contributes to a sense of grounding.
