SUPREME AWARDS

In 2007, the GIA inaugurated a Supreme Award to celebrate a building or a body of work by a practice or an outstanding contribution to the GIA by an individual.

The judges decided that this year two awards would be presented, one for a building and one for an outstanding contribution to the GIA by an individual.

In the company of very stiff competition there was one building whose regenerative impact, innovative design and elegance of detailing stood out for the judges, who found the environment created by the project a hugely uplifting experience, an outstanding achievement in every respect.

Dr. Joyce B. Deans, CBE

Joyce was the first female President of both the GIA and RIAS, The award was presented in recognition of her dedicated hard work on behalf of both the GIA and the RIAS over many years.
