1. Introduction
The Glasgow Urban Design Panel consists of those amenity societies or specialised trusts who have a specific or general interest in the City’s built environment. The presentation is intended to provide the members with a greater understanding of what is proposed by the developer, thus ensuring that any representations made add value to the planning process.
2. Procedure
The meetings are generally held in Committee Room 3 of the City Chambers. Entry is by the main door from George Square and Council Officers are on hand to direct you to the 2nd floor. Seating is available within the Councillor’s Corridor area next to Committee Room 3, where your party should await being called to present.
3. Visual Presentation
The Committee Room has 2 plasma screens linked to a computer. Microphone assistance is available within the room and it is recommended that this facility is used as room acoustics can be difficult.
It is essential that any presentation should contain the following:-
4. Presentation
Each development will normally only have 25 minutes for the entire consultation. The architect/agent will be given 10/15 minutes to explain the scheme and its rationale. The Chair will control the timescale and speakers will be advised, by the Chair, to adhere to the time plan. All presenters are reminded of the need for brevity given the limited agenda time available to Panel members. The presentations should therefore be succinct and include particular reference to the design philosophy and context. In addition, handouts can assist the Members in their understanding.
The Panel has a broad range of people from lay interests to architects and engineers so your presentation should be pitched accordingly.
IMPORTANT: Should you intend to give a Powerpont Presentation please contact Don MacMahon (0141 287 9944), a minimum of 2 days before the meeting, in order that the appropriate arrangements can be made.
Please note that all submitted material will be published on this site unless specifically requested not to do so.
